Most often, I begin constructing my pictures with no clear objective in mind. I try things just to see how they might look. Finally, a result will resonate with me and suggest what my next move should be. So, in that sense, everything I represent becomes very "real" to me. I can feel a distant shore as being an actual destination, a spot somewhere in the universe.
